Multimedia technology has been used in teaching. This philosophy is now applied to the practice of quality education, which has a significant impact on the development of the whole education as well as on individual students. As the Internet Age develops, Chinese teachers in Junior High face new challenges in teaching thoughts and methods. The Chinese teachers should break the traditional teaching philosophy and give multimedia technology into full play in teaching Chinese. Through the methods of questionnaires, case studies and literature analysis,this paper can be divided into three parts exploring the problems and effects that the multimedia technology has in Chinese classrooms. For the first part, it presents the current situation of multimedia teaching and explains the necessity of teaching Chinese combined with multimedia technologies. And now it is a trend in teaching modernization. At the same time, it compares multimedia teaching with traditional teaching from the angle of their advantages. For the second, based on theoretical analysis, this paper enters into practical investigation. It aims to find the problems and then solve the problems accordingly after a careful investigation into the application of the multimedia technology in Chinese classroom. Findings show that Junior High students are satisfied with Chinese teaching equipped with multimedia. However, Chinese teachers lack good skills of making PPT and they are too cautious to realize the importance of bold innovation and communication. They should make good and frequent use of multimedia in teaching modern poetry, composition and reading. Then, it expounds the necessity of using multimedia in teaching the above-mentioned classes and puts forward reasonable suggestions with specific teaching examples.The significance of this study lies in that it gives an indication and a reminder to multimedia teaching which is based on actual teaching practices and the current situation of multimedia teaching. When teaching poetry, composition and reading, Chinese teachers should use multimedia frequently and reasonably and gives it into full play in order to improve the development of Chinese teaching in Junior High.
