| All the time, Chinese traditional method of teaching English only attaches importance to training reading and translation capabilities. Many students depend on rote memorizing the grammar rules to pass examinations. It results that students don’t have good habit of learning English and don’t culture learning fun after they studied more than ten years of learning English.If things go on like this, not only can it increase the academic’s burden but also the students gradually will lose enthusiasm for learning English. Spoken English teaching is the foundation and the start of the English language teaching. Training oral communication skills and self-expression is the ultimate goal of English teaching. In fact, due to the spoken English is not included the entrance examination. Primary school and teachers ignore the oral competence.The inadequate oral teaching activities and the indifference of the students led to the students have low oral competence. A large number of the students only can write instead of speaking.Primary school is the critical period of learning English.If we want to change the situation we should take some measures on the primary school English teaching. We should help the students intuitively understand and more stimulate students enthusiasm for learning spoken English.Therefore, this article will find the existing problems in primary English teaching and explore the cause. Then the article will offer the valuable suggestions for primary schools,teachers and students.The article summarizes adopt literature research to collect and conclude the Second Language Acquisition Critical period theory, Krashen Second Language Acquisition,Constructivist Theory, Learning Concepts of Humanism to understand the basic principles and trends of oral teaching. These theories provide a theoretical basis. Secondly, this study uses the questionnaire method and divides into six dimensions respectively are verbal learning attitude,verbal learning environment, motivation of learning spoken language, spoken learning effect evaluation, oral English output capacity, and output barriers. The author also interviews with primary school teachers. So the study presents many problems in current English teaching in primary schools comprehensively and truly. Author in the actual investigation to the analysis of primary inner emotional factors and cognitive ability.The author further explores the main reasons for these problems. The article think that the teachers don’t implemented in practice students spoken English foundation weak, the lack of good language environment, a single oral evaluation model, students affective filter strong anxiety and other negative emotions conflict.Finally, through the analysis of the above reasons, the paper provides detailed strategies for the three elements of the education, hoping to help teachers carry out the oral Englishteaching in primary school. |
