The consept of "lifelong education" has been widely accepted around the world, and unremitting efforts have been made for that goal. As an important way to achieve lifelong learning, community education has got more and more attention. From the 1980 s, China began the study and practice of community education. In the 17 th and 18 th national congress of the CPC, the significance of “lifelong learning” were clearly proposed, thus all parts of the country started to launch “learning society”.Facing all community members, community education is a special form of education, which can make up for the shortage of modern school education system, coming to be necessary means to achieve a comprehensive system of lifelong education. Thereefore, socialization degree of community education directly influences the effectiveness of learning city’s construction and creation level. In other words,community education’s socialization is an important sign of learning city’s maturity.In the 21 st century, information technology turns to be the symbol of the era. As the basis and core for the development of modern science and technology, information technology has penetrated into every field of society, influencing and changing people’s life, work, study and thinking. With information technology’s application in the field of education, education environment, education resources and way of education change to develop in the direction of informationization. In this larger context, information learning becomes particularly important. Information learning undoubtedly gives a new direction for the development of community education. The construction of information infrastructure, the popularization of community education informationization and the application of informatization in community education will be the emphasis in community education, showing great sifnificance in the goal of “lifelong learning”.Based on the above understanding, by way of literature method, survey method and so on, this research tries to analyze, research and summarize the current community education models under the informatization background, discovering emerging issues in the development process. Aimed at the insufficient and combining information technology’s development in China, we attempt to explore suitable community education models under informatization background which provides information for policymakers and practitioners’ further study.Firstly this paper summaries related researches about community education and community education informatization at home and abroad to understand the development of community education informatization. From the perspective of concept’s development, "community", "community education" and other relevant concepts are clearly defined and the theoretical basis of community education informatization is mainly presented. Secondly, taking Rizhao city as an example, through questionnaire and interview method, information about community education is collected and main problems existing in the community education turn out. Considering this, community education mode under the background of informatization is put forward from five perspectives: the course design mode, learning form, resource management, promotion and new mode of learning support services. Finally, on the basis of constructing community education mode, a series of measures are proposed to provide thoughts for the development of community education informationization.
