With the coming of the education informatization era, there is anew change and tendency in our country’s educational revolution andresearch field. It turns to pay equal attention to the professionaldevelopment of teachers instead of merely caring about the growth ofstudents. A brand new professional development model for teacherswas created according to the change, which was “online teacherlearning community”. Through reaches on developments and status ofexisting domestic and overseas teacher learning communities, theessay aimed at how to improve the professional development ofteachers. Based on theories of collaborative learning, constructismlearning and social interaction, guided by the principle of learningcommunity, and in view of successful experiences of domestic onlinetraining platform relevant to teacher learning community, it tries toverify the research of the subject by way of building up a online teacherlearning community according to the actual conditions of author’sschool.The online teacher learning community platform of the schoolmainly consist of three relatively separate sub-platforms, which are theteacher learning community forum, the teacher blog and the teacherresource center. The forum is to provide an opportunity for teachers tocommunicate, collaborate and to discuss issues together. The blog is aspace for teachers to reconsider teachings and for emotionalexchanges. And the teacher resource center is a platform for teachersto share resources and to learn online. The fundamental purpose of theessay is to proof that the online teacher learning community caneffectively promote teachers’ professional development through thecombination of theories and practices.
