Latin dance is one of the two system of sports dance(called International style of Ballroom dancing), it consists of the samba, cha-cha, rumba, paso doble and cowboy dance, by which rotating, jumping to pass passion, lively, bold and unrestrained and romantic. Since the early 1980s sports dance is introduced into our country, it gradually spread in the school, the society and the competitive sports fields.It’s promising that sports dance have been formally approved as the project in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian games.Cha-cha has the characteristics of breezy, which is popular in Latin dance.In order to investigate the acceptance of cha-cha, further discusses the impact on physical quality and the self-efficacy of primary school students,which might promoktes the popularization of cha-cha in elementary school campus, this teaching experiment have been done. Doing this study by applying the method of literature, questionnaire survey method, experimental method and mathematical statistics.Refer to national student physique health test project and the distinctive function of cha-cha, this study selected 50 meters sprints,50 m x8 running back and forth in succession,1 minute sit-ups, sit-and-reach and standing on one foot with closing eyes for physical quality index, selecting the self-efficacy scale in sports as test indexes of self-efficacy. Selecting randomly students in grade five of Yangzhou Huayuan primary school as the experimental subjects.Latin teaching for 12 weeks, three times a week, each lesson 45 minutes for experimental class, the control group with normal PE course learning, test the experimental classes and that in comparative classes before and after the experiment of the above indicators and statistical analysis, draw the following conclusions:1、Cha-cha learning to the score of 50 meters sprints and 50 m×8 shuttle run is similar with normal PE course,namely in term of the promotion of the speed quality and endurance quality,cha-cha and ordinary PE curriculum both on work.2、Cha-cha learning promoting effect on sit-ups grades is not obvious with ordinary PE curriculum, that is to say,to promote the waist abdomen strength, the ordinary PE curriculum learning is more effective;3、Cha-cha learning can improve the performance of standing on one foot with closing eyes,that is to say,it have a significant promoting effect on the balance ability of the students;4、Cha-cha learning can improve the performance of that is to say,have a significant promoting effect on the leg flexibility quality of the students;5、Learning cha-cha has a promoting effect on students’ self-confidence ascension, mainly manifested in the physical ability of confidence dimension changed significantly, the girls in the change is significant than boys.And recommends that cha-cha should be promote in primary and secondary schools,according to the students’ interests, the school’s condition to open interest class or club, organize related teachers to develop school-based curriculum. Stimulate students’ interest in learning, let them have more understanding of cha-cha, and by learning to improve physical fitness, enhance temperament, build up confidence.
