| "Reading is not only the important learning content in Chinese curriculum, but also the significant way to search processing information, cognize the world, develop thinking, and gain aesthetic experience." The description on Chinese Curriculum Standards can help people fully perceive the importance of reading to a person’s development. Along with the rapid development of information technology, people’s reading ways and contents become diversified and reading capacity plays a significant role in promoting the development of the times and human’s progress. In existing system, Chinese reading teaching is the major approach whereby students learn to read. Reading teaching is the important component as well as the key content of Chinese teaching primary school. Successful reading teaching can not only develop student’s language sense and improve their Chinese qualities, but also enhance their creative thinking ability, imagination and comprehension ability. In reading teaching process, teachers shall also seize every chance to provide moral and aesthetic education for students.However, the implementation of Chinese reading teaching in primary school still shows many deficiencies. The author attempts to perform a survey and analysis on the current situation of reading teaching in high grades of Yangzhou’s three primary schools by questionnaire, interview and classroom observation methods from seven aspects, including reading learning needs, reading teaching objectives, preparations before reading teaching, reading teaching participation, reading teaching methods, reading teaching contents, and reading teaching evaluation. According to analysis, students are weak at written expression and teachers neglect writing skills while designing reading teaching objectives; students are unable to make full preparations before reading and teachers fail to guide and check student’s preparations before reading; students have a low degree of classroom participation, and teachers pay little attention to student’s classroom participation and make few reflections; students fail to read widely and teachers cannot extend student’s reading contents and provide guidance for them; students haven’t mastered good reading skills yet and teachers pay insufficient attention to teaching students reading skills; the self-evaluation standards of students are simple, and teachers evaluate students based on simple ways and contents.Having analyzed the problems above, the author attempts to come up with following improvement strategies for reading teaching:improve writing through reading and highlight the teaching of writing skills; guide students to make full preparations before reading; enhance student’s degree of classroom participation; enrich student’s reading contents:guide students to master reading learning methods; make reading teaching evaluations correctly; and reinforce teacher’s school-based trainings. These strategies are intended to provide guidance and references for Chinese teachers of highgrades in primary school to carry out effective reading teaching practices. |
