Education is the root of prosperity of the nation. Rural education as the foundation of national education career, directly influence the development of the level of national education and the progress of science and technology culture. With the development of the times, Rural education has emerged some new situation, and has gradually become the focus of attention in modern society. Rural education films as the art works take the country as the main narrative space, and take the rural education as the main object of performance,which mainly reflect the content of the educational environment, educational resources, educational subject and the concept of rural education, cause people to reflect on the essence of education.The paper takes the rural education films in the mainland of China since the new century as the main object of study.It uses literature research, content analysis and interdisciplinary research methods.The thesis is divided into six parts to explain in detail.The first part is the introduction, it firstly introduces the research background of this topic, define the concept of rural education films, elaborate the creation of the China Mainland rural education films in the new century. Then the paper reviews the current research situation of this topic, summarizes the current research trend and the existing shortcomings. Finally, the paper describes the research methods, innovation and significance.The second part analyzes the geographical features of the rural education in the movies.It mainly displays in the unique natural geographical features, diversification of the national characteristics and distinctive features of economic regions from three aspects. There are barren plateau and desolate desert,towering majestic mountains and canyons, and the undulating hills in the movies.In poor and backward western regions, occluded and restricted Central areas,the uneven development of the eastern region and northeastern region, rural education exists obvious regional differences in economic.The third part reveals the current status of educational resources of rural schools in the movie.It mainly shows on the simple teaching environment, the scarcity of education funds, the chaos system structure of school and the uneven teacher resources. Rural schools have secluded locations,dilapidated buildings and simple teaching facilities.Poor rural economy,tough government funding and limited private donations result in the lack of the rural educational funding.The grade structure of Rural school is incomplete,and the teacher resources are shortages, only a small number of rural teachers and short-stay volunteer teachers stick to the rural school.The fourth part summarizes the characteristics of the main bodies of education at rural school in the movies.There are three types characters in the films,mainly include grassroots-style rural teachers, elitist volunteer teachers and the suffering rural students.Rural teachers generally have a farmer’s identity, play multiple roles selflessly and rustically,face the miserable and tragic fate,still always stick in rural schools.Volunteer teachers tend to have high education degree or high-income status in the big cities,They gradually grow and occur metamorphosis under the hard of the rural environment.There are left-behind children to look into the distance and wait, poor students of self-renewal and eagerness to learn,older female students who are self-esteem and helpless.The fifth part studies the main concept of rural education in the films,mainly divided into three aspects, the traditional teaching concept of rural schools,the modern teaching ideas coming into under the background of education policies and the polarized educational concept in rural environment.Rural schools have traditional teaching content and monotonous teaching methods. The rural community exist two kinds of education concept universally,knowledge determinism and learning useless views.Under the background of supporting education,new cultural and knowledge increasingly spread,advanced teaching methods constantly fuse and develop.The sixth part is to think about the present situation and future development of rural education,which is based on the above text analysis of movies.It summarizes and discusses mainly from the following several aspects, regional differences in rural education, the essence of education, the construction of professional teachers team,the education of left-behind children in rural,modern educational concepts and so on. The paper points out that rural education should break the geographical restrictions,pay full attention to the typical educational problems of each region.Break through too much attention to the material aspects of educational resources,to strengthen the thinking of education connotation.Attach great importance to strengthen the cultivation construction of the teacher talent teams.Care and educate the left-behind children from study, life and psychological and others aspects.Under the background of education reform,to promote and embrace the concept of modern education integrate continuously.Regional differences of rural education in the movies reflect the regional imbalance of education development in rural areas.A lot of rural education problems in image are resolved under the multilateral efforts to some extent,but it is still lack of fundamental and institutional solutions.The long-term development of rural education needs the joint efforts of the State and the Community.
