Early Childhood Education is the foundation of lifelong education. Kindergarten is the cradle of early childhood education. Principal is the pilot of a kindergarten. At present, pre-school education is in rapid developing and private kindergartens are booming in this development. The situation is that public kindergartens and private kindergartens are developing at the same time in various ways. However, although private kindergartens are developing rapidly, its level of development still cannot compare with that of public ones. As is known to all, the development of a kindergarten mostly depends on the ability of its principal. A good principal leads the kindergarten to positive growing. Therefore, the importance of research on private kindergarten principal is obvious, and focus is needed on how a good kindergarten principal makes positive development feasible.In this study, educational narrative research method is adopted in order to rebuild the career development of a private kindergarten principal. Y, a public constructed private kindergarten principal, is chosen as the subject of this study. By rebuilding the career development of Y, how a private kindergarten is developed form weak to strong is shown vividly and lessons can be learned from the uneasy, but also joyful experience.This study is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, mainly focusing on the issues raised, the purpose and significance of the research, literature review, definition of core concepts, and research methods. This chapter is the foundation of the thesis. The second chapter describes career development of Y, which is how Y grows from a normal teacher to a principal. This chapter pays attention on important events and people that have influence on Y and how Y feels about and learns from these events and people. The third and fourth chapters are main parts of this thesis, explaining and discussing development trajectory and big events along the trajectory in the development of the kindergarten with Y’s leadership. Y’s ideas on how to develop a private kindergarten and characteristics of this specific kindergarten are revealed in this part. Chapter five is the conclusion. It sums up both the advantages and disadvantages of this kindergarten and identifies direction and goals of its future development. There is enlightenment in the path of this kindergarten’s development, in terms of both how it grows from weak to strong and how the principal Y achieves development of the kindergarten and herself at the same time.
