Homework design and assignments as parts of the teaching link Occupy the important position in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Through the homework assignments and checking, teachers can not only know about the situation of the students understanding and grasping the knowledge which have learned, but also can get the feedback information. This can help teachers test the teaching effect and improve the teaching quality. Through a variety of forms of homework, students can check and consolidate their knowledge and skills well, they also can establish a solid knowledge foundation for the new lessons at the same time. Therefore, the design of homework has a very close relationship with the students’ study result and Chines level. Especially under the background cross-cultural, the students in Thailand are different in teaching system, learning style and characteristics from our country’s students, the homework design should combine the characteristics of both sides. However, the studies about Chinese homework design of Thai middle school students are still not mature so far. And the number of studies on Chines homework design for Thai middle school students is relatively small, a large number of research more focused on teaching materials, teaching method, teaching principle, the learners and so on.Through the form of questionnaire survey, parts of the Chines teacher in Thailand and Thai students from Nareerat School Phrae were surveyed with the Chinese homework design of Thai middle school. This article analyzes and summarizes the design theory of homework, the present education system of China and Thailand and the elements influencing the homework design of teaching Chinese as the second language. Then according to the theory and the results of the survey analysis, this paper analyzes the present situation and existing problems of homework design of Thai middle school, and comes up with corresponding methods and strategies. At last there are some Chinese homework designs from the Chinese teachers in Thailand which were used for the real classroom teaching and some homework from Thai middle school students. This paper simply analyzes these cases and gives some suggestions to explore how to add the effective ways of homework. Wish this process and result of this research can provide some certain reference significance for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
