The research is done on the basis of 465 middle school teachers. Certain inspection is carried out into the eight features of the middle school teachers teaching efficacy by using Teacher Efficacy Scale .The results indicated: (1) In respect of general teaching efficacy, the middle school teachers in villages, county towns and cities have significance difference. The general teaching efficacy of the teachers in county towns is the highest, the city teachers is the lowest. The personal teaching efficacy of the middle school teachers in villages and county towns increases with their title of professional posts. Middle school teachers who graduate from two-year normal colleges or under don have significance difference in personal teaching efficacy no matter where they are. But those who have completed their undergraduate or further courses do have significance differences. The order from a higher level to a lower one is: the cities, the villages, and the county towns. (2) The general teaching efficacy of the middle school teachers have significance difference in sex. The male teachers is quite higher than that of the female ones. (3) The general teaching efficacy of the middle school teachers have significance difference in the grades they are teaching. The junior middle school teachers is lower than that of the senior middle school teachers? The third-year senior middle school teachers is much higher than that of the first-year teachers (4) The personal teaching efficacy of the middle school teachers have significance difference in the subjects they are teaching. The personal teaching efficacy of the teachers of Chinese, foreign language and mathematics is much higher than that of the teachers of other subjects. It also has significance difference in sex and record of formal schooling among the teachers who teach different subjects. (5) The personal teaching efficacy of the middle school teachers tends to increase with their length of time for teaching. But the general teaching efficacy decreases with it. The teachers who have taught less than 5 years have significance difference from the other groups of teachers in teaching efficacy.
