Continuing education for teachers of primary schools has boomed today, but the key and difficult point for it lies that teachers of minorities who has lived in remote mountains are lack of training. There are plenty of studies for continuing education for teachers aboard, but this study is weak in China. Auto-county of Miao and Yi minorities in Luquan, the impoverished county, is located in Kunming, Yuannan, whose situations make continuing education hard. Only if do we study the status quo of continuing education, I think, we can improve the quality of continuing education. This paper makes an attempt to study the stato quo of continuing education for elementary teachers in Luquan, and to explore the path of development by methods of research and comparative. By continuing education for elementary teachers, it implies that the in-service elementary teachers who get teachers certificates improve themselves, whose aim is focused on developing the ability of teaching and teaching research. I found that the work of continuing education for elementary teachers in Luquan is difficult, and short of legal rules. The backward education situations are far behind the development of this region. This paper underscores the problem-analysis of continuing education for elementary teachers in Luquan from the disiplined theories and methods of anthropology, education, psychology. The main problems are: we ignore the regional features that are poverty, multi-minorities, mountain areas and located in a big city; education administrative and part of teachers have backward ideas for continuing education; and the inner factors that impact continuing education, such as the contents, methods, teachers and assessment, are imperfect. Based on the problem-analysis and 憀essons of aboard, I make considerations for the improvement of continuing education for elementary teachers in Luquan from the aspects of inner factors, such as educational ideas and regulations, and outer factors, such as training contents, methods and teacher-preparations and so on. Continuing education is a complex matter. The study of this paper is awaiting improvement. I expect that this paper will offer some help for continuing education for elementary teachers in Luquan, and make benefit for the study of continuing education for impoverished minorities in our country.
