Chemistry is a physical science based on experiments. It is a central discipline of the physical science, and an organic part of science courses. Experimentation is the most essential and basic means of scientific discovery. Therefore, it is closely related to solving scientific problems. In order to mproe students abilities to solve chemical problems, raise their interest in scientific exploration, and foster a precise attitude towards scientific experiment, teachers should creat as many opportunities as they can while teaching chemistry, so that students can do practical experiments by themselves, especially make students o exploratory experiments just like little scientists.?However, there are some microcosmic, poisonous, on slowing-reacting and time-consuming experiments that cannot be carried out in class, as well as some large-scale chemical engineering and new scientific advancements in chemistry that are also difficult to demonstrate in class. By the means of course-ware, the static experiment can be made dynamic, the micro content can be made specific, the abstract knowledge can be made figurative, and the chemical engineering can be made simulated. Thus, with the help of sound, shape, colour and smell in course-ware some experiments, which are limited by experimental conditions, can exactly show the chemical reaction phenomina. As a result, the chemical law will be discovered and all experiments can become a kind of lively eality Many people have attempted in this respect in order to optimize chemistry teaching, but most of them are non-systematical qualitative research. Our research forms a corresponding teaching pattern which applies experimental course-wares to faciliate chemistry teaching, and adoptsthe heuristic approach which is in accord with teaching content and student traits. Through a year of systematical research, and quantitative statistical analysis, we draw the foliowing conclusions:. 1) Applying multimedia experimental course-wares to the second year senior high school students to faciliate chemistry teaching, can greatly raise students interest in learning chemistr and foster a precise attitude towards scientific experiment. 2) Applying multimedia experimental course-wares to the second year senior high school students to faciiate chemistry teaching, can markedly improve academic performance in chemistry students of average or lower standing. 3) The feedback from students about course-ware to faciiate teaching is positive.
