After analyzing the limitation of the Web-based Learning Assistant System in China and integrating the present level of Internet, this research puts forward and then creates a Web-based Intelligent Learning Assisted System-ILAS with the direction of the theories such as Constructivism, Adaptive Learning and Software Engineering which is for teachers and students and realize the combination of individual, adaptive and interactive group learning. It consists of many effective assistant means for learning such as Learning Forum, FAQ, E-mail, Search Engine, Chat Room, Calling Center, Intelligent Assistance, Hotline, etc. It can service students with fully meticulous and strong assistance in the online instructional system. It shows the learner-centered educational ideas advocated by the Constructivism as well as the individual and adaptive learning ideas of adaptive learning theory and set a primarily learning assistant model for Web-based instructional system.There are six parts in the thesis and the first part explains the background of the research, some relevant researches at home and abroad as well as the content, aims and meaning of it. The second part consists of the theoretical bases such as the constructivist learning theory, adaptive learning theory together with the software engineering theory. And the third part discusses the technological bases of the study with the angle of developing the ILAS. The author expounds the design of the ILAS in the fourth part including the design idea, data flow, functional module, user interface and DD (data dictionary) with the use of typical module. The fifth part explains the implementation of ILAS with details from the selection of developing environment and tools to the arithmetic design and code compilation.
