The two classes were drawn randomly from countryside and city respectively. The information about students in two classes has been collected widely by questionnaire survey, literature research, and deep interviews. Through quantitative process and comparative analysis of the information, the results indicate that the developmental level of rural students lags behind that of the urban students , the results also indicate that the significant differences exist among rural students in physical development, psychological development, and behavioral development. The study is based on the generalization and summary of the two concepts ?student development" and "level of student development". The student development should be all-round development, including cognitive development, emotional development and behavioral development, and so on.The level of student development doesn't only reflect the development speed, but also reflect the dynamic level which consists of the speed of the student development, the stability of the student development, the conditions that affect the student development, and so on.In the paper, we have analyzed the environmental factors that influence the student development, such as rural society, rural schools, and student's families. Moreover, the study suggests that the main problems that bother the development of a countryside are economy, and backward vicious which are falling into the dangerously vicious circle together with the backward rural education.
