Higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries are the scientific and technological economic entities that universities establish or participate in establishing with their superiority in science and technology. This dissertation mainly discusses several problems in the process of developing higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries, points out that universities' developing scientific and technological industries is the natural result of the expansion and improvement of function of higher education, the objective request of developing China with science and education, and it has important significance in promoting the development of China's economy and also universities.This dissertation consists of five parts:A)Introduction. It figures out the concept of higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries and summarizes the significance in research into the developing of higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries.B)The formation of the higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries. From a historical point of view, it analyzes the gradual forming and developing of university's three functions: teaching, scientific research and social service . It also elaborates that higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries are the inevitable product of the development of university's functions and the advanced form of the integration of producing, teaching and scientific research. Therefore, it will benefit more to the realization of the three functions of universities.C)The developing course and function of higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries. Since the reforming and opening, the higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries has mainly experienced three stages: the first stage is from 1978 to 1985, the second from 1985 to 1992 and the third from December, 1993 to now. Developing higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries has important significance and functions in many respects.D)The achievements and problems of China's higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries. Dialectically, it describes the achievements with data analysis and points out some problems.E)The developmental strategies of China's higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries. It is the key point of this dissertation. Realistically, from the experience of the internal and external, it proposes some suggestions of developing China's higher educational institutions' scientific and technological industries from six respects.
