Many studies has showed that parental rearing pattern exerted significant influence on the forming and developing of self-esteem. The present research was designed to explore how and through what path parental rearing pattern influenced individual' s self-esteem. On the base of lots searches, three elements were found: security, self-acceptance and self-value.545 senior high school students of grade-two in Shi JiaZhuang were tested. This research designed a special questionnaire about the individual' s security, "EMBU" and "Self-Acceptance Questionnaire, SAQ" and "self-value scale " and "SES" were used at the same time .Through the theoretical analysis and investigational research, the results indicated:(1) The students of one-child family or whose family has more income were better on self-value than those who was not only-one child or whose family has less income, but there was no significant difference among those on self-acceptance .the higher the parents' educational level, the better their children accept themselves.(2) The interpersonal security of female students depend much on the facts that their parents have divorced or not, at the same time, the male students have more independency than the female.(3) The self-value of male students is much influenced by the family income than the female students, at the same time, the students who come from the divorced family has less self-value.(4) The students from divorced family and not one-child family have less self-esteem than others.(5) The result indicated that the warm feeling from mother and father , together with over-protection from father had much effect on the level of security , as well as one' s self-acceptance and self-value and self-esteem.(6) The mother' worm feeling had much influences on individual' self-esteem than other rearing patterns.(7) The mother' worm feeling influenced individual' s self-esteem indirectly by influencing their security self-value and self-acceptance. It have indicated that individual' s security self-value and self-acceptance influenced each other. |
