| With the increasing scale of recruitment by tertiary institutions since 1999, the number of graduates in Yunnan Province has increased by 60% from 53000 in 1998 to 83000 in 2003.Employment is becoming increasingly difficult with the reform of employment system and change of employment situation. On one hand, our country lacks professionals; on the other hand, the graduates find it very difficult to find jobs. Solutions of the problem has become the concern of the whole society. By assessing the employment modes and policies home and abroad, by introducing Say's Theory of Automatic Equilibrium, Keynes' and Phillips' Employment Theory, by adopting the job-seeking theories concerned with college graduates' employment and by creatively using the SWOT Theory to analyze the internal and external strengths and weakness that influence college graduates' employment ,the thesis identifies some factors that influences the employment situation in Yunnan, Furthermore this thesis attempts to find out some ways to solve the employment problems for college graduates in Yunnan Province:(l) Development of economy is the basis for improving the employment rate of college graduates; (2)Advocation of educational renovation for the purpose of training human resources adaptable to the social and economic development of Yunnan Province;(3) Strengthening employment guidance and perfecting employment market ;(4) Preferential tax, increasing salary with seniority perfection of social security system,ect.In the course of the research ,we have obtained first-hand materials from 30 typical working units in Yunnan Province. Concerning using personal, demands on majors, levels of schooling employment channels and forecast on future personal demands. The research results show that government organizations and state-run enterprises have a greater demand for human resources; working units have a higher requirement for graduates' degrees; working units employ graduates from key universities first; working units employ college graduates through the channels of human resources centers; demands for college graduates are moderatelyincreasing.The thesis consists of five parts: (1) Background and meaning of the research ;(2) Brief review of employment theories;(3) Assessment of employment modes of college graduates at home and abroad;(4) Analysis of the college graduates' employment situation in Yunnan Province;(5) Ways to deal with the situation.This thesis targets on the college graduates' difficulty in employment, aiming at alleviating the difficult situation and creating a win-win situation for both education and economy. |
