With the progress of the popularization of higher education,"Employment Dilemma" has become a realistic problem, which has to be solved urgently. How to precisely position the major reasons of the employment dilemma of college graduates? This study considers that as college graduates’behaviour is affected directly by their employment intention, to solve the employment issue of college graduates, the employment intention and the factors related to the intention have to be firstly confirmed, in order to provide suggestions for policy adjustment. The research therefore focuses on the investigation of the factors, which influence employment intention of college graduates, and construct empirical model for employment intention through multi-dimensional analysis on existing theories and their linkage. Based on the data analysis, the factors and occurrence mechanism of employment issue for college students have been systematically discussed in this paper. According to the results of rigorous empirical analysis, it eventually provided policy suggestions to improve and expand the employment of college graduates, in order to enrich the theory and practice of the study of employment of college graduates.This research is mainly based on the literature study and analysis of practical materials to find the study space and position research questions. After determining the research questions, this paper adopted investigation and data analysis methods, mainly employing questionnaire survey, and supplementing with interview method and literature research method to study current employment intention of college graduates in Yunnan province. Meanwhile, this paper has expressed research interests especially in graduates’intention to take up occupation in grass-roots units and returning homeland for employment. In the context of descriptive statistics results, currently it is a general situation that graduates from ordinary universities in Yunnan Province have showed doubts and anxiety for employment circumstance. However, they have not been observed with positive response to the implementing national policies for graduates’ employment in grass-roots units. Graduates’expecting employment cities centralize in second and third tier cities and county town, and the region which graduates actually signed for is consistent with their expectation. Either considering employment region expectation or acceptance, there are only scanty number of graduates who chose to occupy in rural area. It is indisputable facts that employment in urban and rural areas exists binary segmentation. For the industry of employment direction, more graduates expect to choose public institutions, such as schools and scientific research institutions, and the second best choice is government agency. The rate of self-employment stays low, which is contrast with the high response rate to self-employed policies. For the occupation direction, the choices of graduated are more concentrated to be professionals and administrators. The effects of gender and student origin in employment intentions are significant, while the effect of ethnic identity is not obvious.According to the process and results of regression, factors of employment intention of college graduates include employment ability, employment concept, employment capital and employment policy. Significant effects have been observed in employment ability, employment concept and employment capital. In employment ability, significant effects on employment intention has been observed in knowledge capability, technical capability and occupation ability. In employment concept, employment behavior tendency and occupation value orientation presented effects with similar level;’economic returns’,’development opportunities’,’ability improvement’, and’safety’have shown more significant influence on the graduates’ employment intention. In employment capital,’political identity’,’parents’ education level’,’education investment’ and other elements have also expressed impacts on employment intention.Based on the empirical research results and related research conclusion, this paper has raised directive, rather than operational, policy suggestions for improving the employment situation and easing employment pressure:constructing multi-dimensional and stereoscopic supporting system of college students’ employment policy; establishing policy-driven university employment guidance; implementing categorical employment guidance based on employment concept survey; exploiting employment ability while processing guidance for career planning; and strengthening ideological education of career planning for model groups of college students.
