The 21st century is an informational era in which the human knowledge is increasing violently and the rhythms of the world societies are speeding up obviously. In order to face the challenge of the new century, the American government launched the famous "2061 Project", in as early as 1985, on the purpose of improving the scientific and cultural qualities of the whole nation. And in 1993 the Clinton government set about to build the National Information Infrastructure.What the American governments did around this period aroused active responses of the governments in many other different countries of the world. They made plans to promote the educational levels of their own countries by taking in more information technology. As a result, a global e-education upsurge was set off.To go with the world tide of the e-education, the Chinese educational Ministry also put forwards a project of connecting all the school computers in china to the Internet. Now appears an attractive scenery that information technology is being integrated into English courses in the China essential educational field, which is also the only way for the China English education to develop continuously.Quite a few experts and scholars have discussed on some aspects on the integration between information technology and courses, but an integrated theory has not yet been formed, let alone the theory between information technology and ENGLISH courses. And compared with the countries around China, there are some maladies in our English education, such as taking more time, but getting less efficiency.So, China has to strengthen the research into the integration between information technology and English courses, to promote the procedure of it, and to improve the quality of its English education. Only in this way can we shorten the disparities between the developed countries and ours, and can our English education (based on modern new technology) make great progress. All this is of great significance to fostering innovative talents for our country and to the great renaissance of our nation.Based on the systematic theory, the transmission theory and the constructivism theory, this dissertation discusses several aspects of the integration between information technology and English courses. It falls into eight parts in all. The first part introduces the present state of the development of the integration and elucidates the necessity and significance of the integration between information technology and English courses. The second part elaborates the theories on which this dissertation is based on. And the third and fourth parts clarify the essential principles and requirements of the integration. The fifth part sets forth the basic model and their using environment. And the sixth part illustrates the several strategies that should be used flexibly in the integration. And the seventh part discusses the definite, the functions, the approaches, the model and the standards of the evaluation of the integration. The last part puts all the above into practice by analyzing and evaluating some real cases and giving some suggestions to them.
