The rapid development of science and technology has greatly influenced the human society. With the entry into WTO , the education of our country is under greater and greater challenge. Achieving getting integrated into the international education has become the essential point of our country's educational reform and the main subject of educational research. It is imperative to comprehensively carry out quality-oriented education, train students' information attainment and develop their creativity. Educational practice and theory complement each other: theory is based on practice and in turn serves practice. At present, the educational development of our country has stepped into a new stage and it is of significant importance for us to study the relationship between educational practice and theory, and explore the new teaching model under new situation.Middle school education plays an important role in our nation's education. Due to the development of the informational society, the Information Technology (IT) curriculum is getting more and more significant. It is the high time that we further step up our nation's education and explored new teaching ideas, methods and models of middle school IT curriculum.Education is the process that promotes the change of students' knowledge structure. In order to reach our teaching aim of middle school IT curriculum and to embody the teaching strategy that students should be mam-body and teachers should be dominant of teaching. It is necessary to solve the problem of "how to learn" as well as "how to learn". Through the long-term educational practice, a lot of studies have been conducted to investigate the human cognitive process , structure and law, and a complete theoretical system, which witnessed the development from behaviorism to cognitive theory and then to constructivism, has been established. Nowadays, an increasing number of teachers are attaching more and more importance to cognitive and progressively applying is to teaching. Constructivism claims that teaching should center on students.To put this more clearly, the emphasis of teaching should be laid on developing students' ability of actively exploring , discovering, obtaining, constructing. Owing to the shifts of teaching focus from teacher to learner, constructivism can better stimulate students' motivation of learning, which is in correspondence with the curriculum idea and object of < .This paper analyses the formation, development and the core thought of the theory of constructivism. On the basis of constructivism theory and in full combination with the characteristics and characteristics and goals of the Information Technology(IT) course, primarily investigates the leading role that constructivism acts in IT instruction and emphatically presents three typical kinds of constructivism. This paper points out the similarities between constructivism and the cultivation of students' informational qualities. Finally, the author emphasizes the essentiality of the constructivism during the processing of reforming the traditional IT course, and presents the application that the constructivism in the IT course through the plentiful cases.
