In this paper, the necessity and feasibility of conducting chemistry teaching in accordance with students' individual characteristics have been studied tentatively by theoretical discussion and practices. Firstly, it is analyzed that improving students to develop with their own characteristics is not only the important content but also the higher lever of the principles based on students' development. Then the possibility of conducting teaching according to students' characteristics, which is one of the most significant methods, is demonstrated. Thus, it is pointed out that to meet the needs of students' development, teachers should actively explore and exercise the method mentioned above. Moreover, based on the discussion of features of students and analysis of elements of teaching system, the major measures are further stated together with the practices on study objectives, teaching content, teaching methods, students' homework, learning conclusion, homework assessment and so on. Therefore, the author makes a conclusion that in order to boost students to develop better, carrying out chemistry teaching in accordance with students' characteristics is both essential and practicable.
