Since the 90s of the twentieth century, the priority of French educational reform has been shifted from structure adjustment to reflection on its curriculum. French reform of curriculum in basic education has seen its developmental trend as balance between teaching common culture, which is centered on the national language, and creating diversified roads to success for each individual student.Under this guideline, French curriculum policy, curriculum objective, curriculum structure, teaching methodology, curriculum evaluation and examination in basic education have showed new characteristics, such as adopting the centralized curriculum policy that allows to some extent local autonomy, designing the curriculum structure that combines compulsory and optional subjects, as well as independent and integrated subjects, arranging the curriculum contents that comprise of modern knowledge and technologies and traditions, and introducing the "problematique" method, the "debat" method and ICT into curriculum and teaching. The current curriculum reform in France will broaden our visions and facilitate the new curriculum reform in China.
