With the improvement of social economy and culture, Elementary Education should pay more attention to training students'ability of communication and co-operation. To meet the social improvement, many countries have brought co-operation into the aims of the Course Reform of Elementary Education. So does the New Course Reform of Elementary Education in China, In order to train communicating and co-operating ability of students, we must alter the traditional teaching methods. Based on the research and practice on related problems, this thesis elaborates the establishment and optimization of "interactive co-operation"teaching method for Geography in Junior Middle School. Altogether, it has the following four parts:Part One: Introduction. It demonstrates the significance to establish "interactive co-operation" teaching method in Geography of Junior Middle School and introduces the author's state of research on related problems.Part Two: Establishment, which explains the basic characters and social values of "interactive co-operation" teaching method.It summarizes the theoretical basic and demonstrates teaching models of "interactive co-operation-self-initiative study", "interactive co-operation-accepting study", "interactive co-operation-exploratory study'Mt especially explains their practicing procedures and operating strategy by giving lots of examples.Part Three: Optimization. There are three important ways of optimization. First, it's to train the co-operating ability. Second, to alter the teacher's roles in teaching and learning. And the last, to change the evaluating standards both for students and for teachers.Part Four: Conclusion.This thesis manages to set up exactly operative teaching models so as to combine advanced teaching theories into teaching practice of Junior Geography. I hope sincerely that it can do good to the Geography teachers at work and give some inspiration to the teaching and learning of other subjects.
