The field of education in our country put forward that the education should be changed from "examination-oriented education" to "quality-oriented education", for the sake of the need to adapt the developmental epoch and the move of socialist modernization with Chinese characteristic. The quality-oriented education emphasize that students are energy-unit, and they have absolute personalities. Regard students as main body, attach importance to bring up the important station of students, and base on it to build up the every kind of ability of students, especially to defer to the students' creativity and active. In the teaching of P. E. Department of teachers' college, we should be seeing out the sought of quality-oriented education the time of day. Well then, how to impel a standing development of teaching, how to improve and promote the initiative of teachers and students has already become the sixty-four-dollar question in teaching work.This investigation managed the method of using literature, questionnaire inquisition, complication analysis, and try to base the theory about men's development of Marx, psychology, and pedagogy to study out the systemic research of basketball teaching in P.E. college. Aim at the standing development of basketball teaching and the improving of teaching quality and efficiency, we can establish a sort of ideology, that is: the teaching motivity of outer basketball teaching is a power which can impel and maintain the development of basketball teaching system move in cycles, it is produced by the mutual functions between several kinds of complications inside or outside the teaching, it works on mostly composing complication , and it is resultant force which is converged bymotivities of teachers' teaching and students' studying , for the way of making students as main body in teaching activity and realizing the object of teaching.The results of researching:1. The teaching motivity for basketball technique in advanced P.E. college originates from the combination of bilateral motivities: the teaching motivity and the learning motivity of students. Of the two, the main factor functions mainly.2. The teaching motivity and the learning motivity of students are comparible. They restrain each other. On certain condition, one can improve the other and even change into the other reasonably.3. The teaching motivity should be paid enough attention during the teaching practice.
