New " Art Curriculum Criteria of Ordinary Senior High School" has broken the traditional teaching ideas. It emphasizes the students' taking an active part in comprehensive practice and lets them become the main part of classroom teaching. Great changes have taken place hi teaching goals, contents, organizational forms and teaching evaluation and so on. Paying more attention to the students' feelings, experiences, participation, exploring, thinking and cooperation in the art activities plays an important part in improving the students' overall quality, developing aesthetic judgment and training creativity spirit and practical ability.Senior high schools in the countryside are influenced by geography, information, culture, transportations, education and so on. So people have a poor understanding of art. They don't understand the effects on quality education that art education has and they think that art is not the main subject which can influence the studying of the main subjects. So the art senior high school education in the countryside is very weak. How to adapt, supplement and design teaching contents and how to reform the organizational from and ways of classroom teaching are the urgent problems that need to be solved. Only in this way can we develop the practicing abilities of the students and creativity.This thesis aims to develop not only creativity spirit of the students and the practical abilities but also the students' aesthetic judgment. By investigating the present situation of art education of senior high schools in the countryside, I analyzed the problems existing hi teaching goals, teaching methods, teaching equipment, teachers, quantities of classes and also analyzed the resource advantages because of the special geography conditions and significance in the countryside. According to the demands of "Art Curriculum Criteria of Ordinary Senior High School", 1 combined the present teaching situation of high schools in the countryside with the objective reality to elaborate how to change teaching ideas, perfect classroom teaching of art and how to dig into curriculum resources and enrich the ways of implementation, ialso elaborated how to make use of modern teaching media to enhance the harmonious developments of the students.Facts have proved that in the countryside students go out of the classroom more easily to create art works so that the students can gain more experience. Making use of natural resources in the rural senior high school art teaching not only accords with the reality of art teaching but also meets the demands of the new curriculum criteria.
