With the development of mass media, mass culture becomes popular around the world. Influenced by the postmodern ideological trend, mass communication gradually abandons the traditional grand narrative discourse structure and focuses on the micro audience subjectivity construction. Curriculums on the media literacy education are carried out in many countries. The curriculums develop systematically in the countries of Europe and the United States. In terms of China, however, the media literacy education did not get a systematic development, especially in primary and secondary schools which need construction of the education urgently.The media literacy curriculum in primary stage is developed, designed and practiced in this study. On the basis of a large number of media literacy education researches at home and abroad, the learning environment era of large database and the western trend of curriculum, this study puts forward the "crystal" curriculum idea. The ways to construct “crystal” media literacy curriculum are mentioned, namely the development of curriculum standard, the books of the curriculum and the design of the curriculum resources, "crystal" teaching strategy, "crystal" teaching environment and design and practice of teaching evaluation. The research focuses on "crystal" teaching strategy.The media literacy courses of primary schools are implemented in the concept of "crystal" courses, which are based on the core of the self-organization theory and absorb the core of the spirit of American constructive postmodern curriculum. The construction of “crystal” media literacy curriculums which consist of four core metaphors and twelve courses, and are implemented in the approach of "latent structure" has realized practice and application of the theory of self-organization in teaching design.This study can be divided into three parts. The first chapter consists of chapter1 to chapter 3, which mainly discusses the concept of "crystal" course and its theoretical framework. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter introduces the "crystal" curriculum idea and its references. The third chapter mainly puts forward "latent structure" course which is the way of the realization of the "crystal" course. Second part consists of chapter 4 to chapter 7, which is the main part of the paper. It mainly discusses the implementation methods of "crystal" media literacy course in primary schools from the dimension of the curriculum design which includes the development of the curriculum standard, teaching material and the design of the curriculum resources, teaching strategies, design of teaching environment and teaching evaluation. The application of "crystal" course teaching strategy is the focus of the paper. The last part mainly carries a practice research on media literacy curriculum in primary schools verifying and reflecting the theoretical assumptions of the implementation approaches of "crystal" curriculum.In conclusion, this paper gives a systematic discussion of the construction of the “crystal” media literacy curriculum in primary schools from the macro-level theoretical framework and the micro-level course practice. The author sincerely hopes that this paper can provide a possible direction of construction and practice of media literacy courses for elementary schools, at the same time it can realize William Doll and Dewey’s expectations of curriculums.
