In the document, Standards for Teaching Information Technology in Senior High Schools, published in March 2003, the following basic principles about the teaching of information technology have been stated:1.Develop the sense of information and help students to be the citizens that adapt to the era of information.2.Create a better environment for learning information technology and construct a platform for the lifetime-study.3.Pay attention to all students and build up unique course on information technology.4.Cultivate the problem-solving capability and encourage students to carry out innovative practices using information technology.5.Focus on communication and cooperation and develop a healthy culture in the era of information.Based on this theory, two rounds of research on shcool-based curriculum development on web design courses have been developed in the grade one students of our senior high school. In the two rounds of teaching practices, we have probed into the teaching designs, learning methods and course evaluation of the shcool-based curriculum development. Our research includes the following points:1.In teaching the web design module during the course of information technology, by selecting and rearranging the appropriate teaching content, how to motivate students' interest in learning and using information technologies, how to develop students' sense of information, and how to build up a new type of teacher-student-relationship.2.How to help students to gradually develop the sense of information by implementing appropriate evaluation criteria.3.How to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching material compiled for the web design courses and students' learning performance by utilizing the theory on shcool-based curriculum development. The basic research method is behavior analysis. It includes four key phases, planning, proceeding, observing, and rethinking. Such approach not only can help students to grasp the knowledge, but it can also help students to enhance their sense of information, develop their self-learning capability, motivate their go-aheadism and enthusiasm, and build up a solid foundation for their lifetime-study. At the same time, we also tried to develop the shcool-based curriculum on information technology, tried to explore the teaching methods and pattern that are best suitable for the students by centering at the students. After two rounds of teaching trails, students' performance and problem-solving capability havebeen greatly improved in every aspect, which gave us the following valuable conclusions from our research:1 .The learning approach that centered at students and guided by teachers improved the teaching performance comparing to the approach that centered at the teaching and imitated by students.2.The study materials that are appropriately compiled can help students to solve their learning problems and difficulties by themselves, and improve their learning performance.3. shcool-based curriculum development can enhance the teachers' teaching consciousness and their ability to develop the courses, improve teacher's consciousness and ability to do research.4.In the shcool-based curriculum development, a reasonable course evaluation can help teachers to play a leading role in the course development and implementation.5.Rather than an over-night change, it is a long-term conscious effort to help students to develop their sense of information. The course on information technology covers a broad of contents, which provides higher standard and challenge to the teachers who teach information technology. In order to make information technology function as a front line course, teachers must alter their original teaching concepts, change the teaching patterns, and focus on how to help students to develop their sense of information.
