This paper presents the results of a systematic study, based on the theory of learning-type organization and the theory of team, of teacher-teams and gives a detailed discussion of how to conduct teacher-team learning. Case studies showed that the theory is applicable to the present cases.1. Systematic study of teacher-teams has been conducted. The changing relationship between teams and organization is discussed, and the ultimate goal of setting up teacher-teams is identified that is to implement organizational change and to construct learning-based school. The study of fundamental elements, internal structures and outside conditions for teacher-teams leads to the formation of a basic theory framework for teacher-teams. To overcome the shortcomings of traditionally linear-structured school, it was suggested to set up teacher-teams so that the school can have a flat structure. Not only is setting up teacher-teams an effective approach to make a flat school structure, but also provides the foundation for organizing and running a learning-based school. It was further suggested that an efficient teacher-team must establish a common object, have heterogeneity among its members, select a suitable leader, and create team codes of good conduct. Meanwhile, the team must obtain outside support, have the authorization of its superiors, and build an achievements-evaluation system.2. Detailed discussion of how to conduct teacher-team learning has been carried out. The importance of teacher-team learning as to a learning-based school is clarified, and practical methods and techniques of teacher-team learning are stated. It is recognized, through the study and discussion, that teacher-team learning in a learning-based school is not a matter of individuals, but a team-voluntary learning, and that conducting teacher-team learning is an important measure to construct a learning-based school. Methods of teacher-team learning are probed, in-depth communication techniques of teacher-team learning detailed, and practices recommended to overcome the obstacles of teacher-team learning - self-defense out of basic instinct. It is recommended that a learning-based school be constructed through team knowledge managing, knowledge sharing, and free flowing of knowledge in the school.
