Along with the arrival of the information-based society, the ones that reformed in the new curriculum were deepened constantly, the height infiltration and close integration among of new idea, new method and new technology in the educational field, modern educational technology has already become the basic new point and strong point of growth of educational development of our country, the break-through point of the new curricula reform and commanding point. The inquiry-based teaching model of geography is a kind of teaching model under the educational idea in people first, promote students to develop vividly and livelily and voluntarily , in an all-round way, been given new intension under the new situation, there are important meanings to study the geography inquiry-based teaching model on modern educational technology condition . This article rest on the pedagogy, the psychology and the geography curriculum and teaching theories, using scientific research method and so on the method of inspection, interview method and literature investigation and study method has made the elaboration to this topic.Firstly, this article investigated the connotation and essential characteristic of modern educational technology. Secondly, has done the systematic research to the educational model theory, has analyzed the modern education technology to the middle school geography educational model influence, this article constructed in this foundation inquiry-based teaching model of high school geography based on the modern educational technology. And discussed exhaustive elaboration on this teaching model's theoretical foundation , teaching goal, operation sequence, implementation safeguard condition and assessment etc in an all-round way. Especially this article analyzed systematically the way to the teacher role localization and the student's change to study way. And proposed one new student assessment method —electron portfolio assessment.
