In recent years, research-based learning has become a focus in the circle of education technology, even the whole circle of education. With view to transforming the study methods of students, it emphasizes an active and creative spirit, focuses on the knowledge and ability students can benefit from all their lives, and react to and resolve the requirements toward education from the times, only to enable students to cope with rapidly-changing social environments and supplement the defects of traditional study methods as a beneficial trial. However, in teaching practice, the complete realization of research-based learning in reality faces lots of difficulties. Fortunately, the computer network technology can provide research-based learning with full-scale and fruitful resources as a guarantee and convenient and rapid technological support, and establishes a good study environment for the practices of research-based learning. Therefore, it is feasible, effective in teaching and significant in practicing creative education to full take advantages of network technology and probe into the research-based learning mode in a network environment. Combining research-based learning with specific subjects and reading plenty of materials at home and abroad and fully checking, the author makes a research of relevant theories of research-based learning, puts forward instructional design of Modern Educational Technology, and builds up the environments of research-based learning under the background of network. Meantime, the author practises research-based learning on freshmen majoring in educational technology at School of Computer Science, Sichuan Normal University. Therefore, from the aspects of both theory and practice, the paper makes a valuable probe into research-based learning in a network environment. The paper can be divided into the following chapters: In the first chapter, the author first introduces the background to choose this topic and then analyzes its significance, contents, methods, means, designs and main achievements in research. In the second chapter, the author makes a further study of relevant theories of research-based learning on the basis of analyzing its theoretical base, connotation, process of research-based learning, and how the network supports research-based learning and connotation and factors of research-based learning in a network environment. In the third chapter, the author makes instructional designs of research-based learning of Modern Educational Technology in a network environment, including analysis of learning needs, analysis of learning contents, analysis of learners, construction of environments for learning, designs of process and evaluation of learning. In the fourth chapter, the author brings forth specific plans for practices of research-based learning of Modern Educational Technology in a network environment. Based on the relevant action research, the author sums up and rethinks of its process and findings so as to reach a certain practical conclusion. In the end, Chapter 5 undertakes an overall summary of what the author has done, and prospects for the following relevant study.
