Current Situation Of College Students Dormitory Interpersonal Relationships And Intervention

This research consists of two parts. The one is an investigation using a questionnaire and the other is an intervention using psychological training. In the investigation using the questionnaire with 432 subjects, the factors that influenced college students'interpersonal relations in the dormitory, the causes and their feeling about the relations, and the features of their methods of dealing with have been researched. The results showed that communicational barriers and attitudes towards each other are the main factors that influence their interpersonal relations in the dormitory. And their bad behaviors, unusual living habit and some trivial things in their daily life were also important factors that influenced their interpersonal relations in the dormitory. The results also showed about 31.9% of subjects were unsatisfied with their interpersonal relations in the dormitory. As for the causes of it, most of them thought their roommates should be responsible for it. About the methods of dealing with it, most of them choose orderly to communicate, forgive, avoid and tolerate. But if the problems they faced weren't popular but serious for them, they intended to choose orderly to tolerate, avoid, communicate and quarrel, among them especially choosing to tolerate and avoid. In the intervention by psychological training, using three scales as tools to choose subjects and evaluate the intervention effect, 22 subjects took part in and were formed two groups. The one included 10 subjects who can't deal with interpersonal relations well and came from different dormitory, named homogeneity group. The other includes 12 subjects who came from two natural dormitories, only some of them (3 males, 2 females) having interpersonal trouble, named heterogeneity group. The psychological training program designed by researcher had 8 sessions and lasted two months. Intervention effects were varied among three kinds of subjects: the subjects in the homogeneity group, the subjects having interpersonal problems in the heterogeneity group, and the subjects having no interpersonal problems in the heterogeneity group. The results of the research showed: 1. The main factors influencing dormitory interpersonal relation of students in Teacher Colleges are communicational barrier and attitude towards each other,ill-personality-character, some bad behaviors and their living habit. 2. Group training has effects on improving the students'interpersonal relations in the dormitory in the teacher's college. It can improve the psychological state of the normal students and the students facing the trouble in interpersonal relations. And the effects of group training varied among different persons. 3.The group training is pertinence. It increases cohesive force and solves the problem of interpersonal relations facing closely and pays much attention on the skills of interpersonal communication, etc.
