The new geography general outline puts forward that students should "learn geography which is useful to life", and that they should change the geography study method. What's more, it's the first time that the compilation of the new senior high schools' geography teaching material tried the typical case analytical method. The case-based teaching method is exercised successfully in Harvard Commercial School, thus it's thought as a fashionable and successful teaching mode that deputizes for the future teaching direction. The construction and application of case library, which is a form to organize teaching resources, is also a hotspot. In China, the research of case-based teaching in geography of middle school is still underway, and the case-based teaching in web environment is much less.According to the characteristic of geography subject, the dissertation researches into the case-based teaching in web environment with the action research method so as to provide experience and suggestion for construction of case library and the practice of this teaching method, which promotes the construction of geography teaching resources and enriches the teaching methods.Firstly, by surveying the relative literature, the dissertation summarizes the general process and difficulties of the traditional case-based teaching and constructs the web environment (website for case-based teaching) of the research according to the characteristic of geography and the design of foreign relative platform. Then, the author carried out three cycles of action research in The Shunde First Middle School. We chosen the teaching cases based on the following knowledge: the influence of landform on tribe distribution, the influence of city development on geography circumstance, the factor affecting agriculture and agriculture zone type. The basic frame of experiment is "introduction of cases, personal analysis, group discussion, completion of case report, communion in the class and summary". Finally, the dissertation discusses the effect of case-based teaching in web environment through the analysis of questionnaire, interview records and students' works.The research indicates that: 1.The design of website satisfies the demand of case-based teaching in web environment. The case library is an effective form to organize the teaching resources. The manner that teacher and students construct the library together provides students more chances to learn. 2. Case-based teaching in web environment adapts to individual learning better and helps teachers to know things about students' learning. 3. Case-based teaching in web environment functions well in fostering students' abilities of analyzing problems, collaboration, recapitulation and applying knowledge. And it helps students to extend their ken and comprehend the knowledge.
