With a history of one hundred of years, case teaching has developed into a much more sophisticated teaching method. It’s based on the real and typical case materials. It is not only a good way to teach the students to learn theoretical knowledge, but also combined with students’ real life. In short, it is a good adaptation of the science curriculum teaching method. With the extension of the case method in classroom, the construction of case teaching support system, case library, gradually gets more attention, too. Looking at the study on case teaching, we find that it is still quite lack of experience and resource about the construction of case library, so is in high school biology teaching. In line with the nature and characteristics, related concepts and theories of the case teaching method, and after making a review of case library construction, we identify this topic, that applications of case teaching method in high school biology and the study of case library construction. We hope to provide some suggestions for people to improve and perfect the case teaching method and case library construction.The study mainly uses literature research, teaching cases analysis, educational experiment and questionnaire method. Literature research is mainly based on the retrieval and inspection of the concepts and theories relevant to the case teaching method, to clear the study. Teaching case studies are mainly for recording and analyzing classroom teaching scenarios, as well as discovering and solving these problems. We select two parallel classes to conduct experimental study. In the experimental class, we use the case method, combining with traditional teaching methods. In the comparison class, we only use traditional teaching method. In this experimental study, two parallel classes were conducted with pretest and posttest, then gotten on an analysis. At the end of this experiment, we made a self-evaluation among two parallel classes and a questionnaire survey about the effect on the case teaching in the experiment class.After analyzing the ideals and process of the study and combining with student achievement, questionnaire and self-evaluation, we can make such conclusions: It is feasible to carry out case teaching method in high school biology:(1)biology and the materials provide a wealth of case materials for the case study;(2)case teaching shows some advantages;(3)case teaching can make up for the deficiencies of traditional teaching methods. inadequacies of the study:(1)the scope of the case teaching is narrow;(2)means of implementation of case teaching is not mature;(3)the study of case teaching is still in theoretical level.Currently, in order to make case teaching method play a significant role in high school biology, more attention should be made to the combination of case teaching method and traditional teaching method. For teachers, they should enhance their professional skills and broaden the horizons of their knowledge. Moreover, to make a guarantee for the construction of case library, we should develop some suitable teaching support systems and management systems in high school biology case teaching..
