The idea of school-based curriculum development (SBCD) is originated from the main western developed countries in 1960s and 1970s, Because of the malpractice of center-based curriculum development (CBCD), SBCD is demanded to actualize democracy in curriculum decision. Recently, with the publication of the third-class curriculum management policy in our country, SBCD is getting more attention of the curriculum theorists, educational executives in all levels and many elementary school teachers and high-school teachers. SBCD attributes to promoting the growth of students' individuality, enhancing the teachers' special study level and helping form the schools' characterization. However, SBCD is still a new study in our country, and both in theory and in practice there still exists problems that need us to discuss and research.This paper talks about the connotation of SBCD, it's development in and abroad, its purpose, its way and its foundational theories. After that, the paper pays attention to geography school-based curriculum, and discusses it in five ways: First, describe the process how to develop geography school-based curriculum. Second, discuss the development tactics of geography school-based curriculum from different perspectives. Third, discuss how to plan geography school-based curriculum from three levels: the whole category, one curriculum and teaching. Besides, the reference answer is given in the appendix. Fourth, discuss how to evaluate geography school-based curriculum in the preceding, middle and rear period. Fifth, put forward solutions to the problems in developing geography school-based curriculum.
