On The Construction Of Spiritual Production And China Academic Humanities And Social Sciences

As human special social activity, spirit producing had been valued and studied since time immemorial. Being based on critically inherit the forefathers'idea, marx established his own spiritual production theory.Marx's spiritual production theory is the essential part of the materialist concept of history. It is not only the theoretical grount for Marx to observe and analyze human society in order to establish his materialist concept of history, but also the important basis for him to criticize capitalist society in order to set up his theory of communism in future. However, due to the limitation of era (particularly to much lack in living matter )and misinterpretation of the materialist concept of history, Marx's spiritual production theory had not been given necessary attention for a long time. Comrade Deng xiao- ping definitely put forward "the theory of that science and technology is the fist productive forces"according to the domestic and foreign socialist practical experience, especially to the characteristics of social development at the present time; thus resumed and highlighted the important position and role of spirit producing and its subject—intelleclual and its product—science and technology in human social development nowadays; and correspondingly regulated and formulated a series of strategic decision in social macroscopic development in our country, which has enriched and developed maxist theory of spirit production.Just as all things have both positive and negative sides, science and technology is a sword with two edges. Its development brings not only positive but also negative effort inevitably. In order to overcome its negative effort, in my opinion, the most fundamental way is to strengthen the building of the humanistic and social science. However, while people affirmed the decisive role of the nutural science in economic development, they ignored thecritical effort of the humanistic and social science in social development and man's over-all development. So how to understand rightly the position of the humanistic and social science in the whole science system and how to build it is an important existing problem placed us.This paper wants to start from the theory of spiritual production, by means of emphatically analyse the great role of spirit producing and its important product—science (especially the natural science)in social development and through introspect its negative effort, then bring out and emphasize the important role and value embody of the humanistic and social science in social development and man's over-all development npwadays; and then reveal the urgency and necessity of enhancing the building of the humanistic and social science in higher schools in our country nowadays and make some useful inquiries about how to build.
