The teaching mode of the research reading for the medium and high grades in the primary school produced in the 21st century is not perfect and mature enough, which manifests the indistinct theoretical basis and origin, one-sided teaching objective, the vacancy of the research on teaching facts and principles, deficient exploration of the teaching strategy and non evaluation standard. This essay aims to construct the teaching mode of the research reading for the medium and high grades in the primary school. Based on the researching learning theory and Chinese curriculum standard, it defines the mode to remove the doubt and puzzle among the fellow workers, on the theoretical basis in the light of discovery learning, constructive and collaboration learning so as to direct the teaching practice. The essay is also on the principles of the mode such as variety, catering for all the students, processing, supporting and formative evaluation to offer rules and criteria. In this essay the basic teaching elements are discovered though inspection, among which the potential students are the object, the reading material for the medium and high grades the content and the research reading the action. The research reading teaching aims to improve the students' comprehension of their native language. The teacher as the designer and operator intends to instruct the students to explore and build the atmosphere. In the essay the design of the teaching strategy is continuously to be explored for its extending and application.
