The relationship between teacher and students is a fairly important pair of contradiction. Viewing the complex interaction between teacher and students, we may explore the real intention and value of Chinese education because the structural characteristics, the harmonious, the harmonious degree, and the interaction effect of teacher and students' relationship are the great factors which condition the development of teaching process and the function of teaching. Democratization of Chinese teaching is a significant orientation of Chinese education reform for improving Chinese teaching efficiency, developing students' Chinese competence, enhancing the ideological and cultural quality of the whole nation and cultivating students' consciousness of social subject. The research on democratization of Chinese teaching will track the historical trend of the evolution for the concept on teacher and student' s relationship on the historical development basis. The relation of teacher and students has circled the positive and negative course from the ancient 'Teacher-Centered Theory', through 'Student-Centered Theory' in May 4th Age, to current 'Teacher-Directed and Student-Centered Theory'.The historical description on the evolution of the outlook for teacher and students' relationship in Chinese teaching has not only revealed the historical inevitable inner requirement of the democratization for Chinese teaching, but expounded the complicated essence of Chinese teaching with an important criterion and perspective. Furthermore, through the analysis and discussion of the concept on teaching and the concept on teacher and student's relationship, the social trend of thought and the concept on teacher and students' relationship, the thesis has discovered levels of blankets that covered the concept of teacher and students' relationship, sough out the inherent logical structure and obtained profound implications. Based on the implications of the developing history for the concept on teacher and students' relationship, the thesis tried to put forward the connotation of the democratization for Chinese teaching, i.e. the construction of a democratic, equal 'I-You' relationship between teacher and students in the new age under the guidance of the famous education theory of Martin Buber's 'I-You'. The thesis also tried to analyze the function of the democratization for Chinese teaching in the following four aspects: 1. the democratization and the orientation of the objectives on Chinese teaching 2. the democratization and the optimization of the process for Chinese teaching 3. the democratization and the activation of the dynamic for Chinese teaching 4. the democratization and the improvement of the evaluation on Chinese teaching. If s known to all the democratization of Chinese teaching will influence on the direction of Chinese teaching practice inevitably as a kind of teaching value pursuit. The practical principles of democratization for Chinese teaching may be defined in three aspects as query, dialogue and cooperation by unfolding the process of 'I-You' concept of teacher and students' relationship dynamically and building on the basis of inherent law of Chinese teaching.
