The Theory of Chinese Teaching for college teachers shoulders an important task of training teachers of Chinese for secondary schools. As a specialized Chinese teaching curriculum, its aim is to help college students acquire pedagogy, teaching skills, emotions, attitudes and sense of value which are required to have as a teacher. The scientificalness and progressiveness of the theory as well as the effectiveness of the leaching skills and the teaching practice have direct effect on the quality of the secondary school teachers of Chinese. This thesis starts with the problems which exist both in the theory mentioned above and the teaching practice, trying to point out the flaws of the curriculum setting, the teaching contents, the teaching methods, the teaching quality and so on. It also analyzes the reasons why the problems arise. Meanwhile, on the basis of studying and referring to the experience and achievements of senior teachers and colleagues during the author's teaching practice, she not only learns and considers the new theories on Chinese teaching under the background of the new curriculum reform, but also preliminarily explores the reform of the curriculum. She conceives its teaching procedures and studies the patterns of teachers' teaching capability while carrying out the new curriculum reform as well. She makes full use of the teaching methods such as example teaching, case teaching, observation teaching, microteaching and teaching practice etc. This teaching mode is called "Six-Step Method", which is made up of the following six teaching procedures: theory learning, observation teaching, microteaching, example teaching, teaching reflection and teaching practice. This new teaching method can reinforce the teaching-skill training along with the teaching practice activities and promote the Chinese teaching abilities of the college students, which eventually lays a good foundation of being a professional teacher.
