Some advice and suggestions are proposed in the article on the problem occur in the Olympic maths activities in primary schools. In view of the unchecked-spread phenomenon in "Olympic maths"on which students parents as well as teachers all have opinions, the paper, on a real basis, refutes the inappropriate comments on the "Olympic maths craze"advertised in Shanghai Wen Hui. It points clearly that we should distinguish correctly the affect of Olympic maths coaching in different cases, admitting that it plays an active role in the developing of maths and the improvement in students'ability; that we should understand correctly the difference as well as the relation between quality-oriented education and talents education; and thus we shouldn't confuse Olympic Maths Competition with Olympic maths coaching. On the basis of a set of statistical date from trial, the paper expounds the author's view on questions such as whether primary school pupils should get Olympic maths coaching and whether schools may set second class for the pupils'Olympic maths coaching and so on.
