Dalian Vocational And Technical College Information Systems Planning

The informationalizing construction of Dalian Vocational Technology College is to solve the problem of "isolated information islands" within the college, and to provide more rational, more scientific and sufficient supporting data for decision-making management. The author was responsible for planning and designing of the entire system as well as effective definitions of its function modules.This paper deliberates on key technologies, planning principles and planning methodologies applied in the constructing process of the informationalization. The body of the paper is divided into four parts:Part One points out the issues that exist in the application of information within the college, identifies and analyses core business process, and optimizes current business process of the college using business process reengineering theory, whereby requirements are obtained with regard to informationalizing construction within the college.Part Two brings forward the planning objectives and planning principles of informationalizing construction on the basis of the requirements obtained in Part One, and compares between planning methodologies. System data classes are defined and system structure designed.Part Three analyzes data processing in the construction process of the informationalization, mainly comprises the selection of database scheme, the construction and distribution of subject database, the consistency coincidence and security of data, etc.Part Four introduces measures for implementation and assurance of the informationalizing construction, mainly including the methodology of implementation, the means of construction, and organizational and training assurance, the purpose of which is to ensure smooth launching of the informationalization and its effective use.Based on planning and design in this paper, a detailed scheme was made by Dalian Vocational Technology College and its implementation is under way.Preliminary results of the informationalization have been observed. It is hoped that the work done in this paper can benefit informationalizing constructions of other colleges and universities.
