The teacher roles have relationship with the social backgroundswhich they live. With the development of the computer,communicationand network technology ,man has been undergoing a revolution featuringthe advance from the industrialized society to an information-based one.The fast improvement of science technique , especially informationtechnique have brought large change to social-production style, life styleand thinking mode. As one of the important parts of society, education mustmake some revolution. Facing this shocking situation,who are the mostimportant part in education action, need renew themselves' roles. Unlesswe deeply understand the change of teacher roles in information-basedsociety, we can't have a look at the function which teachers exert at theeducation process. So, dissertation author try to probe into teacher roles ininformation based society with academic thinking and build a clear visionon teacher's status and effect in new era.This dissertation includes six parts.In Part I, the author try to interpret the interpretations, ways andmethods about research.In Part II, deficits the nuclear concepts.In Part III, systemic analyses are done on traditional teacher roles.There are five kinds of traditional teacher roles. They are knowledgeinitiator,teaching material presiding chair, deputy of parents,modelsstudent following ,teaching authoritative person, and analyze the locationsof everyone.In Part IV, simply introduce the characteristic about theinformation-based society and reassemble the teacher roles. Thedissertation they are different between farm-based society andindustry-based society. the requires about talent become high in thisinformation-based society and the society needs more and more talents whohave creative ability, so teachers need creative spirits and ability . So, thetraditional teacher roles must be changed. They should become learner,cooperator and promoter, consider, pursuer and developer of course.In Part V, Clarify the main strategies about the change of teacher'sknowledge concepts, talent concepts and education concepts, the promotionabout the information accomplishment and selfish ability. They are theeffective storages for teacher roles' changes.In last part, the author makes a conclusion about the dissertation.
