Weifang City School Sports And Health "survey On The Implementation And Countermeasures

At present, people's material and spiritual life have been greatly improved with the development of science and technology. At the same time, fast life pace, great mental pressure, limited interpersonal communication and surplus nutrition have posed a big threat to human health, which has become a common topic. Therefore, human being are paying more attention to their health and life quality. However, the physical education can't keep up with the needs in this respect. So Chinese Physical Education lessons must be reformed on a larges scale. June 1999, the guiding ideology ,"health is first", has been put forward definitely in The resolution about Carrying out Educational Reform and Quality-oriented Education Further of the state Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of china.. July 2001, The criterion of P.E.(1-6), P.E. and health(7-12) had been worked out and published by education ministry. It point out that P.E. and Health curriculum regard"health is first"as the guiding ideology. P.E. and Health curriculum aims to improve the students'physical, psychological health and the ability of social adjustment. The health curriculum criterion has been tested all over the country since it was put into practice. It has achieved a great harvest and began to be promoted on a nationwide scale since 2004. Now, P.E. and Health has been in practice for one year in Weifang. It is very important to study the circumstance of the implementation of P.E. and Health curriculum. We can analyze the problems as well as reasons, draw some conclusions, put forward countermeasures and provides the theoretical and practical bases for smooth implementation.This paper is based on methods of literature, teacher–student questionnaire, interviews with people concerned, attending lectures on the spot, etc. And we can study the situations of new curriculums that have been carried out in Weifang district, include 12 counties. As it turned out, the practice of this curriculum is fruitful in the beginning stage. The educational committees at all levels in Weifang hold a positive attitude and have made some relevant plans to enforce it. Teachers and students are also in favor of it. On the other hand, there exist many undesirable difficulties in the curriculum of implementation. For example, the results of practice are different; some schools lack teachers; sports equipment is not well supplied. All this have led to a big gap between the rural and urban areas. What's more, under the exam-oriented educational system, many schools and parents pay much attention to the students'academic achievements but neglect their health education. This problem deserves the attention of all the education authorities. They should make sure that the documents and regulations concerned must be well carried out so that the curriculum of P.E. and Health can go smoothly.
