Physics learning of junior middle school students depends on non-intelligence factors as well as intelligence ones. Among them, interest, particularly, is closely related to the acquirement of knowledge and cultivation of ability. One important aspect of the new course standards is to change the way students learn. "Interest is the best teacher". It is the most active factor of motivation and affects behaviors of students significantly. Cultivating the interest of physics learning can make both teaching and learning more active and thus effective.After a basic description of psychological features of junior middle school students, this article has described related theory research and the author's practice on the cultivation of the interest of physics learning accordingly.Based on related theories, the article first explicates on the concept, formation, development and basic rules of interest study.The article then further explores practice of cultivating the interest of learning in junior middle school, like how to design lively situations in class according to students and teaching content so as to engage and inspire students and make teaching and learning easy, interesting and effective.In the end, the author reflects on the whole process of research about the success and failure of the experiment and presents problems that should be paid attention to.
