Entering 21st century, we are faced with the decision made by our country that quality educationshould be promoted. It requires that quality education should face the whole students, and it shoulddevelop every student's specialty and quality. With the current education policy and circumstances,teachers have not enough time and energy to have the individual teaching and learning according to everystudent, but they can adopt the related and effective teaching and learning policy for different learningstyle as possible as they can.In 1954, American scholar Herbert·Thelen began to study learning style. Afterwards, Dunn,Kaffpoint out their own opinions about the contents and factors of the learning style, then a theory of systemwas formed. The theory was paid much attention by psychology of teaching,learning theory and teachingtheory scholars. It became an important subject and was considered as the true basis of the modernteaching and learning. Mr. Tan dingling, Hu binwu combining our teaching and learning practice,explain the factors and contents of the learning style in detail, which caused much attention in Chineseeducation area. Experts think that the learning style is a learning way or learning tend learners haveconstantly with special characters. It includes the learning strategies, Learning styles and tends studentslike and usually use. The learning style has the stability and seldom changes with the changes of thefactors of learning contents and learning conditions. According to the upper theory, I think that the SeniorMiddle School students have the same difference of learning style such as the difference of views, interest,character, thinking quality and the motivation of writing and so on.According to the spirit of new curriculum standard, it is of great importance to have the writingteaching according to their writing style. In order to improve the efficiency of writing and learning ,many teachers who are devoted to teaching and are active in creation have tried lots of attempts, includingthe creative composition teaching and learning, individual composition teaching and learning. Theseattempts have made great progress but have many disadvantages. First, they are detailed ways and theylack the support of theory, and sometimes are not incomplete. Second, these attempts don't consider thedifference of different student's learning style in learning practice. The teaching and learning way such ascreative new composition and individual composition teaching and learning can satisfy the needs of theadvanced students. While for the students who are not good at composition, it is not meaningful to write acomposition which has new ideas and specialty. Individual composition teaching and leaning wants toface the whole students in this way but they only consider the ability of student's composition and ignorethe important factor which affects the student's composition level such as the difference of interest ,quality and ways of thinking. But learning style offers a common theoretical basis for the several attemptswhich are referred. No matter whether we have the creative writing or have the proper classification , weshould consider the differences of students' writing style. So I think that various teaching and learningstrategies should be made according to the differences of style among the students. It also should considerdifferent students' needs.Senior Middle School writing practice with the learning style should be included the followings:First, in teaching aims, it should break the unity and should not be stiff. Students and teachersshould make the aims together and make the whole aims and the following aims. Second, varieties ofteaching methods should be taken. For example, the training of class cooperation, the weekly writing bygroup cooperation and different helps for us and different homework designs. Finally, varieties ofevaluation should be taken such as the subject of evaluation and way of evaluation.The practice of composition teaching and learning should be paid to the followings:First, teachers should recognize and help the students identify their learning style. Second, teachersmust adopt he different styles of the students so that every type of student have the equal chance to acceptthe effect of learning and teaching according to their preference, avoiding missing some part of them.Third, some strategies should be taken to encourage the students to learn in different ways to adapt to thedifferent tasks and learning environment. Fourth, teachers should master various teaching methods toimprove the effect of composition writing .Learning style used in composition writing will make the Chinese teachers be faced with amounts ofdetailed work. As teachers , we should have the spirit of not being afraid of difficulties. The learning stylemay become the key to opening the door of writing for many students.
