The Context Of The New Curriculum, Collaborative Teaching Problem

Since 2001, the new elementary education curriculum reform started all over our country. The curriculum reform requires teachers to change the traditional teaching model and emphasize team teaching. The set of comprehensive practical course and other comprehensive course, one of the new point in the curriculum reform, is especially a big challenge for Chinese teachers since it is to practice in the authentic class. My research is, therefore, about how team teaching can be integrated into Chinese schools to improve teaching efficiency.In this paper, team teaching means that two or more teachers form a team and attend several or all of the class sessions to observe, interact, question, and learn. The heart of the concept of team teaching lies not in details of structure and organization but more in the essential spirit of cooperative planning, constant collaboration, close unity, unrestrained communication, and sincere sharing. Base the research on the relevant domestic and abroad studies of team teaching, the author of this dissertation first conducted a systematic study of the definition, feature, development and current situation of implementation of team teaching in China. Also the theoretical bases of team teaching are presented in my paper. Finally, building on the current situation in China, my research explore the effective strategies about the organization of teams, insurance of school policies, and education of teachers to promote the implementation of team teaching in China.The above findings have some theoretical and practical applications for the implementation of teaching in Chinese elementary and middle schools. The author hopes that it can help to solve some problems in Chinese elementary education, promote the adequate development of students, improve teachers' professional development.
