Lots of research methods are in value education. Analysis on school textbook is an important one. My thesis takes this method.In this thesis, writer selects a series of textbooks regulated by curriculum reform, i.e. Compulsory education curriculum standard trial textbook Chinese (7-9 grade )(2001, published by People's Education Press ) . All six books are my study objects. The purpose is to find out the content and the form of values education, and then evaluate them by combining some related dates. The paper tries to answer what kind of value system should school build? How to reflect value system in the textbook? Is it reasonable? And so on.The paper includes three chapters besides of the first part. The first part is to explain some key definitions, such as value, values, value system, textbook and curriculum standard textbook. Chapter 1 discusses the content of values education from three perspectives, i.e. self dimension, nature dimension, and society dimension. Chapter 2 discusses the forms of values education such as, emotion uplifting influence, Experiential Learning through Student Activities, positive education, and value consensus. Combining lots of former information into some investigations, Chapter 3 evaluates the content and form of value education in textbook aspect. In this part,the author begines with his work from 2 poits:praise the virgins and point out the shortcomings about the textbook,trying to give some suggestions to the constructoin of the new curriculum reform.
