Reading teaching can be affirmed a key and important component of Chinese teaching in high schools and elementary schools of china according to its proportion in the number of Chinese classes, However, it is also a difficulty which has always been puzzling us in our Chinese teaching.These years the research of Chinese reading teaching has been basing on the steering of art and literature theory, the change about knowledge ideas and the renewal of teaching theory, showing that reading has become a principal part in Chinese teaching Meanwhile, the research involves the patterns of reading teaching, reading ways, reading out of class and some other aspects. During the course of the research, some problems arose, such as the trend of general humanization, the butchered right for creating, the phenomenon of text alienation, students' little reading and slow reading velocity, the imperfect system of assessment in reading teaching and so on .All these have been the main obstacles in the further research. The strategies for solving these problems are as follows: reading critically, giving full scope to the subjective initiative of the teachers, renewing, students' creating right, improving students' reading, perfecting the system of assessment, etc. In addition, we should ensure that the texts can perform their functions correspondingly. We also should deal well with the following three relations. One is the relations among editors, writers, teachers, students and texts. Another is that between teaching and learning .The other is that between our own culture and foreign culture.
