History Curriculum Resources for middle schools refer to the sum total of varius resources advantageous to implement the objective of history curriculum at middle schools. It may include resources substantial or manpower, inside or outside schools, traditional textbooks and documents at libraries or modern research findings on internet. If such resources can be well developed and applied into teaching activities, it will be beneficial to improve considerably the teaching quality and the performance of the whole nation.The development and application of history curriculum resources may guarantee the new curriculum reform and it plays a vital role in the transformation of curriculum functions and learning styles. On the one hand, it goes beyond the narrow teaching contents in textbooks, and involves the life experience of teachers and students in teaching activities. On the other hand, it can be helpful to change the role of students in teaching activities from the passive receivers to the active co-builders so as to arouse the students' enthusiasm and initiative in learning. And meanwhile, it may broaden the vies of teaching, change the teaching concept and inspire teachers' wisdom in teaching. In this way, the development and application of history curriculum resources becomes more important than ever before. However, for a long time, some history teachers have held a wrong opinion towards curriculum resources: they simply considered history textbooks and a few history wall maps as the whole history curriculum resources and neglected the diversity of the curriculum, which is harmful to the improvement of teaching quality. Dated back the history of Chinese history teaching for almost a hundred years, the development and application of history curriculum resources is drawing more and more attention in history teaching and it becomes more and more urgent.With a start of the concept of History Curriculum Resource, this thesis has expatiated the features and classification of the curriculum. Based on this and integration of theory with practice, it puts forwards the theory and approaches of how teachers can independently develop and apply history curriculum resources.
