The reforms of curriculum result in the changes in teaching approaches. Developing creativity and practical ability are the main goals of the inquiry, so the inquiry teaching is regarded as an ideal method of science teaching. We designed questionnaires to know that the chief ways of physics teaching in middle school are explanation, relate and practice, which is due to the reason that the physics teachers unknown to the new curriculum reform and affected by the old ideas about teaching. Based on notions of teachers, students, school leaders and researchers, the actualities of implementing the inquiry learning in physics instruction in some schools of Shangrao are investigated. By analyzing the factors which affect the inquiry learning, suggestions about how to develop inquiry learning thoroughly in our city are given .The thesis gives two parts. The first is analysis of investigation about the notion of inquiry learning and its actuality. The second gives implementation suggestions of the inquiry learning.In the first part, questionnaires are designed and carried out, which covered about 78 teachers, 1124 students and 59 school leaders. The information about their notion to inquiry learning and its implementation are given.
