The sustainable development is the common topic which the current variouscountries faces, education plays the key role in the sustainable development, at present the sustainable development education obtained widely approval and takes in elementary education domain of our country. However, the practice and theory of our country's sustainable development education were still at the start stage, and many teachers are poor in the knowledge and ability aspect of the sustainable development education; many teachers cannot use the synthesis-seepage method effectively to implement the sustainable development education in the school teaching; Other education teaching methods are scarcely used because of teachers lacking the corresponding education ability .such questions are existed. In fact the teacher plays the key role in the school sustainable development education. The teacher's related knowledge, consciousness, ability decides the result of the school sustainable development education. This paper attempts to research the current situation of education for sustainable development of primary and secondary school teachers in Beijing through literature and empirical studies, and finds out the practical problems that exists in the teachers of sustainable development education and provides evidences for the future sustainable development of primary and secondary education and teacher training.Firstly this article elaborated the significance of the elementary and middle schools carrying out the sustainable development education, teachers' importance and requests in the sustainable development education of elementary and middle schools, summarized the present situation about it and teachers' present situation in our country, also analyzed the factors that influenced elementary and middle schools teachers' sustainable development education ability, induced the existed experience that improved the elementary and middle schools teacher sustainable development education quality. Secondly, using interviews and the statistical sampling method, the author understood comprehensively sustainable development education quality present situation of the Elementary and middle schools teacher in Beijing, and preliminarily analyzed the factors that affected the teachers' ability. Third, in above literature research and in the real diagnosis foundation, the author proposed the strategy and the suggestion about further improving the teachers' sustainable development education ability in Elementary and middle schools in Beijing.
